As the young people say “Let’s talk about it”
According to Dr. Monte Ladner, M.D., it is without dispute
that you can reduce the chances that you will be stricken with a major chronic
disease by 80%. These major diseases
include cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke and cancer.
Dr. Ladner outlines the four lifestyle habits that determine
whether you can count yourself in the segment of people that enjoy this
protection from disease:
1. Stop Smoking
(Duh)
2. Get up and move
at least 30 minutes every day
3. A meal regiment which
contains large amounts of vegetables
4. Managing a
healthy weight
If you need help in
these areas, you must address your mindset First!
Your Mindset will determine, how successful your endeavors
will be. Your daily attitude will affect how you deal with the challenges you
face achieving your goals.
What thoughts have you been dealing with lately?
If your mindset is centered upon long-term health and
vitality, then you will make decisions that increase the odds that your future
will be full of health and strength. You
will get off the couch and exercise, you will resist the chips and brownies,
you will actively pursue healthy food, and you will make sure that your weight
is at a healthy amount.
If, on the other hand, your mindset is centered upon the instant
gratification, you will make decisions that increase the odds that you will
follow the path that most Americans are on and have a future that is
characterized by a painful disease, reduced mobility, and dependence upon
ever-increasing medication. :-(
The microwave culture leads us to believe if I can’t achieve
it in two weeks it can’t be real. So many of us set unrealistic expectations
and fail.
I say be present
attack your goals at the moment what little thing can you do right now today?
Try this…
Spend some time thinking about how you want to feel in 90
days,5years, or 10 years.
Personally, I want to be full of life, with loads of energy,
enjoying the things I love to do and the people I love to do them with...
Let your goals determine, create your mindset right now...
What needs to change? Is your start easily achieved?
Here is a different approach…
Ask yourself that age-old questions “how’s that working for you?”
IF your answer is less than a positive time to do a gut check and change things
up.
Look around do you want to join the Status Quo? Cause that’s what average mind does. Or you
just going to follow the crowd over the cliff?
Every thought manifest into an action or non-action where
are you?
Right now, is the time to decide to master your mindset and
put yourself on a course toward strength, health, and vitality. As a man thinketh, you know the rest I say all
of this to say. Take a look at the messages you are telling yourself. And reevaluate
your game plan.
Is it realistic?
Is it measured?
Is it beneficial to my spirit, family, and loved ones?
Does it fight the forces of Father time?
